Fort Lauderdale Kicks Off Parks, Public Safety, and Stormwater Projects

Fort Lauderdale, FL  – Three major initiatives are officially underway in Fort Lauderdale as Mayor Dean J. Trantalis has signed documents to launch citywide parks improvements, the construction of a new police headquarters, and upgrades to our stormwater infrastructure. On Tuesday, February 11, Mayor Trantalis completed all of the necessary paperwork to move forward with parks and police projects that were overwhelmingly approved by voters last March, as well as a significant investment in the City’s infrastructure to increase our resiliency and mitigate the effects of climate change.

Fort Lauderdale Named Top Digital City by e.Republic Inc.'s Center for Digital Government

The City of Fort Lauderdale is one of the top tech-savvy cities in the nation, according to the 2015 Digital Cities Survey conducted by e.Republic's Center for Digital Government. In its 15th year, the annual survey is part of the Center's Digital Communities Program, which focuses on collaboration among cities, counties and regions. Fort Lauderdale ranked eighth overall among communities with a population between 125,000 and 250,000.
