South Florida Symphony Orchestra Announces 2023/24 Masterworks Season

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  – South Florida Symphony Orchestra (SFSO), led by Sebrina María Alfonso, is proud to announce its 2023/24 season featuring five classical Masterworks concerts and Handel’s glorious holiday masterpiece Messiah. This new season features Brahms, Bernstein, Schubert, Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky and more, including Symphony premieres by trailblazing female composers Florence Price, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich and Jessie Montgomery. SFSO will also host a 200th-anniversary celebration of Beethoven's magnificent Symphony No. 9.

The Broward Center For The Performing Arts Hosts Free Open House For Fall Classes

FORT LAUDERDALE – The Broward Center for the Performing Arts will host a free open house for the Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center on Saturday, August 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Guests can tour the education center facilities, observe or sample a class, meet the teaching artists, win prizes, register to win a free fall class and enjoy family-friendly activities and light refreshments.

High School Students Can Now Apply For The Broward Center For The Performing Arts Teen Ambassador Program

FORT LAUDERDALE – The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is accepting applications from high school students interested in arts, journalism and marketing to join the 2023/2024 Broward Center Teen Ambassador Program. High school students attending public, private or home school in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties are invited to apply to become a Teen Ambassador.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – South Florida Symphony Orchestra (SFSO) recently celebrated arts and culture advocates who champion musical creativity and innovation at its 25th anniversary charity gala that took place on March 29 at Broward Center for the Performing Arts. SFSO’s milestone event debuted its arts recognition program, the “Sound of Success” which honored Fort Lauderdale and Miami arts advocates John Evans, chairman and CEO and Steven Wozencraft, executive vice president of John D. Evans Foundation, Stradivarius Society; Jackie Grimm, co-founder and former board member, Stradivarius Society; Jerry Laskey, Stradivarius Society; Phillip Dunlap, director of Broward County Cultural Division; Charles "Chuck" Lane, board chair, senior VP/senior relationship strategist with PNC Private Bank; Beth Holland "SFSO Godmother," Stradivarius Society; Wilton Manors City Commissioner Don D’Arminio, Marc Martorana, Mark Turner, and Chuck Nicholls, Stradivarius Society; and Brenton Ver Ploeg, founding partner, Ver Ploeg & Marino, Stradivarius Society.
