Terrific Trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis is Hailed a 'Merchant of Joy'

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Terrific Trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis was born in ‘the birthplace of jazz,’ New Orleans. This son of Ellis Louis Marsalis, Jr., a pianist and music professor and brother of Wynton Marsalis (trumpeter); Branford Marsalis (saxophonist); and Jason Marsalis (drummer) offers talent and legacy when he brings his sultry sounds to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on February 8. He is a soul on the trombone, virtuous with giving back, and fun on the stage!  Don’t miss him!  

South Florida Symphony Orchestra Presents a Passionate Evening of Masterworks from Brahms, Sibelius and Berlioz

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  – South Florida Symphony Orchestra will present a passionate evening of masterworks from Brahms, Sibelius and Berlioz on Wednesday, February 15, at 7:30 p.m., at The Parker in Fort Lauderdale and on Saturday, February 18, at 7:30 p.m., at Tennessee Williams Theatre at The College of the Florida Keys in Key West. Led by Music Director Sebrina María Alfonso, SFSO’s 25th anniversary season brings Brahms’ final symphonic work, Double Concerto for Violin and Cello in A minor, Op. 102, featuring duo Geneva Lewis on violin and Gabriel Martins on cello, along with Finnish composer Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 82 and the spirited overture to Berlioz’s Béatrice et Bénédict, to new and returning classical music enthusiasts.
