Applications Now Available for Community Redevelopment Agency Emergency Business Investment Program

The City of Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) announces an Emergency Business Investment Program designed to provide relief for businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will provide forgivable financing to eligible small businesses located in Fort Lauderdale’s Northwest Progresso Flagler Heights Community Redevelopment Area (NPFCRA) as well as the Central City CRA. Also, eligible businesses in low and moderate-income areas of the City may apply to receive up to $10,000 in forgivable loans that may be used towards rent or mortgage payments, employee payroll, or utilities.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  – Mark Dhooge, president and CEO of Kids In Distress (KID) and Family Central, Inc., debuted his new electric blue hair on July 6 during the nonprofit’s food distribution at KID headquarters organized in collaboration with Feeding South Florida and FLIPANY. City to Close Summer Camps at Carter Park and Southside Cultural Arts Center Locations due to COVID-19

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- Beginning Monday, July 13, the City of Fort Lauderdale will close its Parks and Recreation summer camps at the Southside Cultural Arts Center, located at 701 S. Andrews Avenue, and at Carter Park, located at 1450 W. Sunrise Boulevard. These camps are being closed to protect the health and safety of campers and staff in response to COVID-19 cases that have been reported at each location.

City Closes Summer Camp at Bass Park due to COVID-19

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- Earlier today (Friday, June 26, 2020), the City of Fort Lauderdale was informed that one of the children attending the City’s summer camp program at Bass Park, located at 2750 N.W. 19 Street, tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, a camp counselor at the facility is awaiting test results. For the protection of campers and staff, the City has closed the camp program at Bass Park and contacted all of the parents of the children enrolled.
