Concerts, Artwalk and Events to Offer COVID Vaccines

The City of Fort Lauderdale is launching Take Your Shot - a community campaign to offer COVID-19 vaccines as major events return.

“This is a great opportunity for people that have been unable or hesitant to get a vaccine to now get one,” Mayor Dean Trantalis said. “By delivering the vaccines to places where groups of people are will allow us to put the pandemic behind us, sooner rather than later.”

Celebrate National Caribbean-american Heritage Month with Island Space and History Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – History Fort Lauderdale, proud steward of our community’s past by making our heritage accessible and engaging to residents and visitors, in conjunction with nonprofit Island SPACE, will present “The Island Imprint: Legends, Locals and Landscapes of the Caribbean” from June 1 – 30 during National Caribbean-American Heritage Month. The fine art exhibition, to be showcased in the New River Inn (231 SW Second Avenue), features imaginative, colorful portraits and slice-of-life scenery from local award-winning artists. An opening welcome reception will be held on Wednesday, June 9, from 6 – 8 p.m., including an in-person and Facebook Live Q&A with the artists.
