Fort Lauderdale, FL -- Recently there has been a trend in cat cafes popping up all over the country and it’s not really a surprise: people love cats! More people are getting involved in their community to help cats and kittens in need, and businesses are finding new ways to make that happen.
The Humane Society of Broward County (HSBC) and a local Fort Lauderdale business, Meowingtons, are partnering to bring the community Cats on Mats: Yoga classes in a room full of adoptable kittens! The two classes for Saturday, June 16 sold out immediately and attendees are looking to forward to stretching with some sensational felines.
In addition, Meowingtons wants you to think beyond downward dog, as they know there are some flexible felines looking to get down with you, and they are generously sponsoring the adoption fees for all felines on Saturday, June 16, 2018.
So don’t Namaste at home on Saturday, visit the Humane Society of Broward County located at 2070 Griffin Road. The adoption kennels open at 10:30am, and we’re sure you’ll find your purrfect kitty to do yoga at home with.
According to Meowingtons Founder/CEO Emma Bassiri, “It seems that events like Cats on Mats are not only a great way to positively impact the animal community but to help raise awareness about the cat overpopulation issue in South Florida.”
The Humane Society of Broward County is conveniently located at 2070 Griffin Road, just a block west of I-95. The HSBC is a private, non-profit organization supported by donations from people and companies who want to help us help the animals. The shelter receives no government funding and is not affiliated with any local or national organization with a similar name. To learn more visit www.humanebroward.com or call 954-989-3977.
