United Way Of Broward County Hires Lynne Wines As Senior Director Of Business Council On Homelessness

Lynne WinesFORT LAUDERDALE, FL – United Way of Broward County hires Lynne Wines as the Senior Director of Business Council on Homelessness. In her new role starting in September, Wines will be responsible for leading and managing the “United We End Homelessness” initiative and will lead/chair the business community’s efforts to end homelessness by convening, planning and implementing community strategies. She will also lead community partners in this collaborative communitywide initiative.

“Throughout Lynne’s career, she has fostered important community relationships and has demonstrated great success at the companies she has worked for, her business acumen will bring significant value to the Broward Business Council on Homelessness. We are thrilled to add her to the team, she will be perfect to lead our efforts to stabilize homelessness here in Broward County,” said Kathleen Cannon, President/CEO of United Way of Broward County. 

Prior to joining United Way of Broward County, Wines served as President & CEO of First Southern Bank and was responsible for all aspects of market and operations for the $1 billion state-wide bank. Prior to that position, she served as President & CEO of CNL Bank, a $1.6 billion commercial bank where she was responsible for all market and operational units including deposit and loan growth, profitability and bank-wide operations and previous to that, she served as President & CEO of Colonial Bank, formerly Union Bank of Florida, where she managed the strategic direction of this $1.1 billion community bank.

In addition to her long-standing career, Wines is actively involved in the community. Wines is the Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee at BankUnited. She currently serves as a Board Member and Executive Chair for Leadership Florida and is on the board of 2-1-1 Broward. Her past community involvement includes serving as a Board Member and Chair for United Way of Broward County, a Board Member for the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Lauderdale and a Vice Chair for the Florida Community Health Network. 

Wines has also been recognized for her service in the community including receiving United Way of Broward County’s Magnolia Leadership Award (2015); South Florida Business Journal, Top Ten CEO for Palm Beach County (2013); South Florida Business Journal, Influential Business Women's Award (2009); and American Diabetes Association, Valor Award (2009).

Wines is currently finalizing her Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Public Service Leadership at New York University and is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
