FORT LAUDERDALE - Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus has informed the City that the United States Navy will name a ship in honor of Fort Lauderdale.

The world of jazz trumpet has traditionally been dominated by men and few women have broken through jazz’s glass ceiling, but the young Canadian jazz trumpeter, Bria  Skonberg is changing that scene.  On Wednesday, April 13, the Gold Coast Jazz Society will present the Bria Skonberg Quartet as they perform a jazz program, “Brass and Velvet, The Music of Louis Armstrong, Anita O’Day and More.”
